CINCINNATI ZOO COMMUNITY EXPANSION Cincinnati, OH The studio focused on developing the undeveloped Zoo property expansion focusing on the LBC Standards with a goal to satisfy each petal requirement. The Cincinnati zoo wished to give back to the community the property resides on while also creating an exciting exhibit for zoo visitors. The master-plan included ~ A community center with daycare, recreation & educational services ~ An expansive greenhouse with a botanical garden to provide fresh food for the public and an work opportunity for connecting the inner city to nature. ~ A restaurant with kitchen that utilizes the on-site grown food and also provides community kitchen for the out-reach. The seven petals of the LBC were considered in each design move to ensure a cohesive design in relation to the environment and inhabitants - Zoo animals and people alike. The project research included in-depth calculations and evidence for LBC certification potential, including both net-zero energy and water usage.

Regenerative Design for the Urban Roofscape AIA Crit Scholar Award 2018 This project investigates the potential of existing underutilized rooftops in a dense urban fabric of the city of Shahjahanabad- The walled city within Delhi. The study dealt with the relationship between the climatological trends of the city, ecological and usage patterns and the need to provide spaces for physical activities and social interactions thus concluded with an attempt to weave the rooftops within the block as an interconnected urban Roofscape that acted as an elevated ground plane for its residents. The roofs, in this case, take on new and varied roles due to increased accessibility that enabled easy movement of its residents from one roof to the other while providing spaces for new programs and activities. This study aims to: 1. Re-activate -physically, socially and environmentally an underutilized and heavily resourceful space within the building that rooftops provide. 2. To provide some spaces of social interaction and gathering which could replace the programs lost on ground level due to increased crowd and commercialization. 3. To design modular prototypical covered and semi-covered designed areas that are easy to install and interacts with surrounding spaces, natural forces, and engaged inhabitants.

Wall Paneling Branding Standing Table
Tri-Tesselations ITSC Interior Renovation,
Cincinnati, OH
Design Brief: The project is the renovation of the existing interior space in the Information Technology Solutions Center(ITSC) at UC Campus. As a design-build studio, we received a grant to bring life to the office space. The outcome was a combination of three parametric design and handcraft build items: 1. The undulating wall covering that allowed the access to fire alarms and other necessities while bringing dimension, energy and warmth to the office. 2. The standing work desk that continues the language of the wall and allows the employees with huddle space to stand while working. 3. The flat panel wall branding with concealed storage behind that is erected without any permanent attachments to the columns. The existing column faces were preserved for future change by designing column “huggers” to attach and stabilize the walls.

The city of Columbus Indiana Believes that architecture “reflects what a city thinks about itself and what it aims to be”. With this in mind the aim for the design was to integrate with the surroundings and provide the people of the city with interactive congregation spaces at all levels. Thus giving back to the community the green land we built upon. Project Description Throughout the project the major consideration was to establish a relationship between the new building , its systems and its surrounding Iconic architecture. Many Iterations of detailed building sections were studied and produced, both in 3D and 2D to experiment and better understand this relationship.

Retirement Homes
Lake Tivole, FL
Supervisor: Dr. Vinod Gupta Design Role: Design Evolution, Modeling and Rendering Objective: To design independent living retirement home with a safe and supportive environment, programs and activities to promote healthy living for the elderly. It is designed to let the residents enjoy the climate of Florida and be able to spend time outside with the great vies of the lake. This curvilinear building manipulates the form of the lake behind and accentuates the feeling of centralization and invitation. We used this shape for its aerodynamic advantages, the broader view it provides and for the fact that planning can be achieved without monotony in this shape unlike a rectangle.
