OBITUARIES | Death Notices & Funerals BEULAH C. BURTON Beulah C. Burton, of Kents Store, departed this life on May 18, 2017. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ray Burton, of 53 years. She is survived by her three daughters and sons-inlaw, Margie and Jim McCarthy of Chesterfield, Patty and Greg Senter of Ashland and Susan and Tom McIntyre of Mechanicsville. She also is survived by four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren in Virginia and Florida. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by many. Beulah was a lifelong member of Mt Gilead Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was known there for her baking talents and that big green platter of rolls every Homecoming. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. Interment followed in the church graveyard. Sheridan Funeral Home of Kents Store was in charge of arrangements.

JEREMIAH DICKERSON Jeremiah Dickerson, of Mechanicsville, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his son, Brandon Dickerson; and his parents, Carlton and Sadie Dickerson. Jerry

is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Charlene Dickerson; daughters, Tammy Bailey (Rick Nisewonger) and Michelle Johnson (David); grandchildren, Patrick Bailey (Pauline), Kelly Bailey (Jonathan Carter), JB Bailey, Jacob Johnson and Kelsey Johnson; great-grandson, Ford Bailey; brother, David Dickerson; sisters, Jean Windsor, Rebekah Goodrich and Sara Cox; brother-in-law, John Ford Jr. (Chrystal); sisterin-law, Patsy Layne (Curtis); and numerous nieces and nephews. Jerry retired from ReyDICKERSON nolds Metal. He loved being outside, fishing, working in the yard, and was a jack of all trades. His family will miss his great sense of humor, but are thankful to have many happy memories. Special thank you to Aseracare Hospice, especially Jessica Kulp and Lisa Kirby. LLEWELLYN FRENCH Llewellyn V. “Lew� French, 88, of Mechanicsville, the son of the late Bessie and Frank H. French, Sr., went home to be with the Lord and his loving wife, Frances Durrette French, on Sunday, FRENCH May 14, 2017. He is survived by his devoted family, which includes his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Michael Owens; daughter, Maria Isabel Tenorio; granddaughter, Erin Bartlett Vaughan, and her husband Jacob; stepgrandchildren, Sarah and Sam Owens; his sisters-in-law, Virginia Beer and Elizabeth Patton, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Audrey Matthews and Frank H. French Jr. After graduating from John Marshall High School, he joined the U.S. Navy and later enjoyed a 40-year career with General Electric Supply Company. He rose through the ranks from the warehouse to Region Manager and won many sales awards that provided him and his wife the opportunity to travel the world. He had a passion for music, learning to play the piano by ear, and he loved to work outdoors, especially raising his beautiful roses. Lew was a long-time member of the Shady Grove United Methodist Church in Mechanicsville. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 19, 2017, at see OBITUARIES, pg. 11
