Fast, agile and especially ultra-robust: Thanks to the great BMX bikes from the MERIDA UMF series, passionate cycling fans of all ages are able to enjoy their entry into the freestyle world with maximum fun. In 2013, three steel versions are waiting for being discovered by you.

Only very few BMX fans might remember that this downright cool sport was born already during the late 1960s in the USA. Comparatively much more present in the mind might be Steven Spielberg’s cinematic masterpiece “E. T. the Extra-Terrestrial” which enthused millions of international moviegoers in 1982 and helped BMX pro Bob Haro to gain global popularity as a stuntman. But all those who consider BMX as “oldschool” after just 30 years are completely wrong: Since then, the bikes and their application range have experienced further and impressive development. Meanwhile, the original BMX sport has been divided into six disciplines: Race, Flatland, Street, Park, Dirt and Vert. No matter what their individual characteristics might be – they all share one important aspect: They’re all just one first crank turn away from the discovery by you. To facilitate your entry into the BMX world, the MERIDA R&D experts have pondered intensively how the bikes for 2013 could be designed in an even more attractive way. This has resulted in the model versions BRAD 3, 4 and 5 which provide definitely enough reasons for praising our engineers’ competence. Because our developers have considered the fact that BMX beginners need robust equipment instead of ultra-light bikes – or have you ever seen that a rookie masters all stunts right from the outset and takes a virtually pristine bike back home then? That’s why all three BMX model versions feature outstandingly durable steel frames and share some other superb configuration elements as well: All MERIDA BRADs possess a rotor for successful bar spins and delight also with single-sided axle pack mounting for cool grinds. But if that was already enough, there wouldn’t be three different variants, right? Here you are: The chain rings of BRAD 3 and 4 have only 25 teeth – exactly as pro riders like it!
