BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT — MCCREARY'S IRISH PUB & EATERY

McCreary's Irish Pub & Eatery — Delicious Irish and American Fare for All Ages!

Situated just a half block south off the historic square in Downtown Columbia, McCreary’s Irish Pub & Eatery serves up delicious Irish and American fare for all ages. With the Irish-themed décor, selection of Irish drinks and food, and warm hospitality, McCreary’s inviting cozy atmosphere and live music make you feel like you are in Ireland at a pub enjoying a beer with friends.

The Pub opened in Columbia, Tennessee, in February 2023 making this the second location for owner Natasha Hendrix with the first location in Franklin. Hendrix has been greeting customers since day one in 2002 from the Franklin location as a waitress and worked her way to the owner in 2009 when original owners Darryl and Annie McCreary sold her the establishment.

Over the years Hendrix hasn’t changed much from the original plan for McCreary’s. Service is still a top priority as is the food quality. With the additions of the weekend breakfast menu, a liquor selection, and the new location in Columbia, Hendrix added her vision to the business plan.

The Pub is still family owned and oriented as Hendrix’s sister, Ashley Farmer is the general manager, and her brother-in-law, Alex Farmer, is the kitchen manager. It truly is a collaborative family effort in every aspect of running the business from the creation of newly inspired dishes and cocktails. “I didn’t always want to own a restaurant. It’s this particular one [in Franklin], its location, and the people who come here, that led me to buy it. There are no pretenses, just comfortable, casual fun,” explained Hendrix about her Franklin pub.

With roots in Columbia, Hendrix always had Columbia on her radar for a second location. “As long as I can remember I have had family in Columbia, I was even born at Maury Regional. I bought a house in Columbia and lived there from 2006 to 2010 so it was a natural progression that would be the second location,” said Hendrix. “I had been looking for a location since 2013 and finally found the perfect spot on South Main Street last year.”

Now that McCreary’s Irish Pub & Eatery in Columbia is in full swing, patrons can stop by for lunch or dinner and enjoy music several nights a week. Some of the house favorites include Corned Beef and Cabbage Eggrolls, a Limerick Hot Potato, Dublin Style Fish and Chips, and McCreary’s original recipe Cottage Pie. The homemade Irish soda bread that is served with some of the entrées is very tasty too. Hendrix concluded, “I want the community and tourists to come to enjoy the food and entertainment and see what the Pub nightlife is all about.”

Stop by for a Guinness Stout and enjoy the Irish way cheers or sláinte, as they say in Ireland!
