IN THIS ASSIGNMENT, WE WERE REQUIRED TO GET INSPIRED BY THE MASHRABEYA AND CREATE AN ABSTRACT COMPOSITION REFLECTING OUR CONCEPT AND INSPIRATION.

THE CONCEPT WAS VERY WELL RESEARCHED, HOWEVER, THE EXECUTION CULD HAVE BEEN BETTER. THE BOX IN THE END NEEDED MORE NEATNESS AS WELL AS THE OVERALL COMPOSITION.

I made the decision to base my abstract composition on the effect that a mashrabiya's light has. These images demonstrate that the mashrabiya is secluded and damp on the inside, however, it bursts with light from the outside. I am going to create a planar 3d model of light bursting out.
