Well you’re in luck as this place is alive and well: Living Roots Wine & Co. opened its doors in November 2017. Owners Sebastian (“Seb”) and Colleen Hardy, a husband and wife duo, have a story like no other. They met through a mutual friend, while Colleen was working as a cellar hand
at Hardy’s Tintara (a winery founded by Seb’s great-greatgreat-grandfather). Colleen, who hails from Rochester, was looking to learn more about winemaking, while Seb (a sixthgeneration winemaker) grew up around wine. They fell in love with each other, and with the idea of blending their hometowns to combine the best of what sunny Adelaide, South Australia, and the cooler climates of New York State have to offer. The end product is a unique bi-continental offering with a beautiful range of small-batch, intentional, delicious wines. Walking into the winery, you’ll be drawn to the warm, industrial elements and the thoughtful décor that makes you never want to leave. Customers can sample wines in the tasting room, sit and share a wine flight with a friend, or grab a bottle to bring home for dinner that evening. For the wine-curious, there are class offerings. You can expect a variety of wine styles—everything from riesling to chardonnay to different styles of shiraz and more robust cabernet sauvignons. There are even more fresh and exciting offerings coming down the pipeline in 2018. In short, at Living Roots there is a perfect glass of wine waiting for you.
