American Red Cross Lifeguard Course

Teen Beginner Swim Lessons (Ages 12-17) Never had formal swim lessons? Not comfortable in the water? Why not have fun learning with a group of your peers? There is no time like the present! Knowing how to swim effectively and efficiently is an important life safety skill. Manassas Park students can take the activity bus to MPCC for lessons after school! $27/Members/Teen Passport; $45/R; $55/NR

(Ages 15+) You must be at least 15 years old by the last class, and you must attend all classes to be certified. Students must be able to complete the prerequisites in order to complete the class, which include swimming 300m, treading water for 1 minute, and a timed event. Upon completion of the class, certification includes American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED for Lifeguards and is valid for 2 years. $200/M; $210/R; $225/NR

Adapted Aquatics (Ages 5-18) We have designed a swimming program for individuals with disabilities to be able to learn water safety, swim techniques, and to feel comfortable in the water. Each participant must have an aide (or parent) in the water during the lesson. Aides provided at no additional charge if arranged with the Aquatics Manager in advance.
