Pence Says Flynn Jr. Has No Role In Transition Following 'Pizza Gate' Tweets
(VIN) Vice President-elect Mike Pence says the conspiracy-minded son of a key adviser to Donald Trump has no role in the president-elect’s transition. Pence told MSNBC Tuesday that the son of retired Gen. Mike Flynn “has no involvement in the transition whatsoever.” When asked about a report that Flynn’s son had an officia .gov transition email address, Trump spokesman Jason Miller said the younger Flynn had been involved in the transition but is no longer. The statement comes after Mike Flynn Jr. sent numerous posts on Twitter about the conspiracy theories of Pizzagate, a fake news story suggesting a Washington, D.C., pizza shop, Comet Ping Pong, plays a key role in a child sex trafficking ring run by Hillary Clinton. Police say the conspiracy theory led to violence Sunday when a North Carolina man fi ed a rifle in the restaurant as he sought to investigate the accusations. No one was injured, and the man was arrested. Flynn Jr., who has accompanied his father to presidential transition meetings inside Trump Tower and lists the presidential transition website as part of his Twitter bio, tweeted Sunday night that, “Until #Pizzagate proven to be false, it’ll remain a story.”

(VIN) A trending story that claims Hillary Clinton won a total of 57 counties in the presidential election is untrue. The Associated Press finds that Clinton won 487 counties nationwide, compared with 2,626 for President-elect Donald Trump. The story appeared on several viral content sites that cater to

It also falsely claimed that Clinton outpaced Trump by more than 2 million votes in the five counties that comprise New York City, which the story said accounted for the entirety of her lead in the national popular vote. An AP count finds that Clinton beat Trump by roughly 1.5 million votes in New York City. Nationwide, Clinton holds a popular vote lead of more than 2 million. The AP considers parishes in Louisiana as counties in election tallies. Washington, D.C., and Alaska have a single statewide reporting unit. Virginia’s count includes 95 counties and 38 independent cities.

Head-on Crash Leaves New Jersey Trooper, Another Man Dead
(VIN) A rookie state trooper responding to a call for help was killed in a violent wreck on a highway when a car traveling in the opposite direction crossed a grassy median and slammed into his cruiser head-on, authorities said. The crash that left debris and the mangled cars scattered on Route 55 in Millville in southern New Jersey happened at about 7 p.m. Monday. Official say a man traveling southbound in a Toyota Corolla crossed the median into the northbound lanes and slammed into a marked state police vehicle. Trooper Frankie Williams was fl wn to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where he was pronounced dead, state police said. The driver of the other car was pronounced dead at the scene. He has not been identifie . The crash remained under investigation early Tuesday. State police said Williams, of Atlantic County, was a member of the 156th State Police Class, which graduated January 29, 2016. He was assigned to Port Norris Station.
