The site is located central to the main Market of Bangalore.
On either side is a major transport node, on one side is the underground Metro station and on the other side is the oldest Bus Stand.
The main aim is to use a strip of the land between the two nodes and create an axis for pedestrian movement. This allows a cleaner connection between both sides.And eliminates excess travel distance by foot between the metro and bus stand.
The Portals are designed in a way to allow maximum natural light as well as natural ventilation.
The open walls of the walkway allow for more safety as the length of the walk way is immense and keeping the complete length covered will reduce the safety aspect of the path for pedestrians to use.
The open portals also have a lightweight appearence which isnt heavy on the eyes amongst all the residential and commercial buildings around.
The portals themselves are made using corten steel which will give it a weathered look without compromising material strength.
This meditation center design was proposed to help form a space where memebers of the satsang can converege for their meetings as well as meditation practices.
