hird Coast Interiors is known for its ability to tell a story in any space, any style. “We believe that great design brings out the best in the client’s tastes, and we work with them to present that through lines, proportion, scale, palette and more,” says founder Guinevere Johnson. In the pursuit of achieving this, she and her team lean on an eclectic array of muses. “Commonalities in our designs include detailed millwork, a call to mix pieces of different eras, understated elegance, patinated glamour and historical accuracy,” she says. GUINEVERE JOHNSON, PRINCIPAL thirdcoastinteriors.net 312.813.9558 _thirdcoastinteriors_ Third Coast Interiors in 2017, Johnson has done just that, creating gorgeous homes throughout the United States and Mexico. In many cases, they have been restorations of historically significant places, a specialty the firm calls “architectural intervention.”

What project put your company on the map? A historic registered 1897 home by Harvey L. Page that we restored for Natasha Trethewey and Brett Gadsden. We renovated it from the studs up alongside Liska Architects, and it was published in Luxe Interiors + Design in 2021. It was a wonderful collaborative process and indicative of the type of site-specific, personal and historically minded work we like to do. What’s next for the firm? In 2021, we continued to work on projects throughout the East Coast and Mexico City. We are excited to see those come to fruition. In 2022, we will continue to explore new opportunities in those regions as well as better serve our Midwest clientele.
