Come Experience our Everyday Life
Relocating to a new city can be an overwhelming and challenging process as there are many things to consider. Prospective residents are faced with the decision of where to buy a home, if the area is a good place to raise a family, if it’s a good community to retire in, how the economic landscape looks, and the list goes on. But relocating can also be a fun and exciting experience with the potential for growth and a new way of life. That’s exactly what David and Natalie Fieleke saw when they considered the move back in 2011.
The couple met in college at Truman State, married after graduation and attended graduate school at the University of Missouri. Both being Missouri residents, the Lee’s Summit reputation preceded itself. They were both familiar with the area, so upon graduating at Mizzou they were eager to accept jobs in Lee’s Summit and start a long-term residence here!

“I knew Lee’s Summit was an up and coming area and that I could grow into my career here. I knew we could stay for many decades” explained Dr. Fieleke. David graduated with a doctorate degree in Dermatology and Natalie with a degree in Journalism and Marketing. Upon their move, Dr. Fieleke practiced at St. Luke’s East and Truman Medical Center – Lakewood and was able to make professional relationships through the Lee’s Summit Chamber of Commerce.
Natalie’s degree in journalism and marketing transitioned naturally into blogging with connections made through KC Parent, Lee’s Summit entrepreneurs, Bridge Space, Velocity and their local church. Natalie’s degree also became a great asset when Dr. Fieleke opened his own practice.

“The health care industry in Lee’s Summit is strong. It’s a has small town feel matched with world class care. There are no competitors among industry professionals, we work together and everyone is always ready to help,” explained Dr. Fieleke. Dr. Fieleke’s work in Dermatology evolved slowly until the opportunity came to open his own practice, Cornerstone Dermatology & Surgery Group, in 2018. “It was challenging, scary and not the easy path, but worth it. We knew we did not want to leave Lee’s Summit and I’m proud of the strong and growing team we’ve built over the past two years” said Dr. Fieleke. Now, only two years later, Cornerstone Dermatology is expanding their office and adding new providers to the practice.
Now a family of four, the couple and their two children are happy to call Lee’s Summit home. “Lee’s Summit is the perfect place to raise a family. We feel very safe here and know we can trust our neighbors” said Natalie. “Our kids attend the Lee’s Summit R-7 School District, and we have been very impressed with the extra-curricular opportunities the district provides, for example, the music program is excellent. We take comfort in knowing our children will graduate with great advantages due to the top-rated education they receive from Lee’s Summit Schools.”
On weekends or during down time, the Fieleke’s can be found riding bikes around town, enjoying neighborhood parks, shopping local in Historic Downtown Lee’s Summit, or dining at area restaurants. “Kansas City is close if you want to venture out, but there is plenty for the whole family right here in Lee’s Summit!” explained Natalie.
