Application for Business Relocation
Let’s walk through the process of relocating your business to, or applying for High Value Residency in, Jersey. Once a final application has been submitted a decision will normally be received within 10 working days.

Contact us either in person or via your intermediary for initial discussions and introductions.
We will guide you through the application process, advising you or your intermediary on your business plan and supporting documentation.

You will also be advised regarding registration or incorporation processes and referred on to the Jersey Company Registry.

Review of the application and business plan by the Population Office (the regulator).
Locate Jersey will facilitate the submission of your application, liaising with the regulator and any other relevant government departments as required.
Review of application dossier by the Comptroller of Taxes, followed by feedback to Locate Jersey.
Submission of the application dossier directly, or preferably through an intermediary, to Locate Jersey.

Locate Jersey will communicate the decision to you as soon as it is received.
You are now able to establish your business in Jersey, register with Income Tax and Social Security and obtain your Jersey ‘Registration Card’.
Review of the application dossier by the Population Office.
Approval letter sent to applicant by Locate Jersey.
Decision communicated to Locate Jersey.
You are now free to rent or purchase a qualified property in Jersey and to take up residence in that property.
This will be followed by a formal confirmation from the Population Office.

Before moving to Jersey had even appeared on the Vernon family’s radar, they were visiting the Island on holiday when their young daughter commented, “I could really see us living in Jersey one day!” Little did they all know that within a few years, this would be the case! Chief Operating Officer of one of Europe’s biggest hedge fund businesses, James Vernon explains: “We were living in Kent and a few years ago we decided, as a family, that it was time to do something completely different and leave the UK for adventure elsewhere, so we headed off to the south of France. “We had a terrific couple of years in a beautiful country. “As we had already left the UK, it didn’t hold a great deal of allure for us, but then a colleague suggested Jersey. I had visited the Island many times through my work and we had (now famously!) holidayed there two years earlier and loved it. “We spent some time getting a feel for the Island thereafter and, on the advice of our accountant, we contacted Locate Jersey. High Value Residency in Jersey To qualify for High Value Residency the applicant must be able to demonstrate comfortable and sustainable worldwide income of £625,000 per annum. Tax of 20% is charged on the first £625,000 and 1% on all income thereafter.
