Amendola,142 July 22, 2015 from 6.00 PM In Anagram Prelude the digital manipulation is an integral part of the production of the images. The selected apps, through algorithms, elaborate and modify the original pictures in random combinations. A continuous transformation is enacted, and it can be verified only once the choice is made, which is the true digital act. The random process of modification is not casual, but it is rather based on analysis, and it has strong connections with quantum physics an the principle of uncertainty. These images are progressively more and more far from the reassuring figurative representation of reality, in order to adapt to the world made of particles we belong to.
Fonte&Poe – Video Screening Museo Civico Castelbuono Castelbuono (PA), Piazza Castello July 22, 2015, from 6.00 PM La giostra dell’avvicinamento (rituale per 8 persone e 8 rapaci imbalsamati), 2015 videoprojection by Fonte&Poe. The video was realized during the I-ART residency project in Castelbuono (PA) in spring 2015, as a collaboration between the Museo Civico and the Naturalistic Museum “Francesco Minà Palumbo” in Castelbuono. After studying the historic, artistic and cultural heritage of Castelbuono, Fonte & Poe produced a performance and the video documentation of this has become part of the permanent collection of the Museo Civico di Castelbuono. The video shows a secular ritual set up by the artists: displaced on a pedestal or circular altar, are eight stuffed specimens of birds of prey of the Madonie Mountains, from the collection of the Naturalistic Minà Palumbo Museum. Around the pedestal, forming the vertices of an imperceptible octagon, eight people from Castelbuono by turn each holds in their hands an egg made of ice for as long as possible, then passing it on to the person next to them. At the same time, these eight people attempt an impossible contact with the glazed eyes of the birds.
