Student Government Association
A very important part of student life is the campus student government. All student government business for the campus is carried out through the Student Government Association. The S G A provides various services for the students of Liberty University. Such services include refrigerator rentals, dry cleaning, M o n d a y m a r k e t s , student discount cards, and an information center. Included in S G A is the Student Activities Department. The goal of the Student Activities Department is to offer students as m a n y leisure and recreational activities as possible. A variety of activities offered include major concerts featuring well-known Christian musicians, the Miss Liberty Pageant, the Liberty 4-Miler, and fund-raising activities that raise thousands of d o l l a r s for charitable organizations.
During the year special events are planned, such as the Christmas banquet, the Valentine's banquet, the Junior-Senior banquet, barbecues, volleyball tournaments and aerobic classes. Weekend activities are also provided for the students, such as late skates at Skateland, late bowl at A M F Lynchburg Bowl, late night Putt Putt Golf and Games, as well as weekly films. T h e n e w e s t addition is "David's Place," the university's student center, where students can take a break from the pressures of school work. The student union building includes a multi-purpose room, T V lounges, a study area, a conference r o o m , LUey's restaurant, and a g a m e room. T h e Student G o v e r n m e n t Association tries to provide various activities for the students at Liberty University so there will be a good balance between fun and academic learning.
