and designers, will have access to a dedicated professional showroom, which functions both as a business meeting point and a creative space. The intention is to allow different types of customers to understand how collections can be combined and used in real contexts,” Miguel explains. In making the store fit for its dual purpose, Costa Nova spent a considerable amount of time getting the practicalities of the space right, both in terms of look and feel as a consumer space, but equally as a space

We are confident it will deliver a very positive and memorable experience for visitors.” When it came to the merchandising of the store, Costa Nova carefully considered their surroundings but utmost in their minds was a clear, concise display of products which honoured both the brand’s authenticity and contemporary vision. “The store has a direct dialogue with Madrid, with the street, through large windows that allow passers-by to engage with the Costa Nova universe from the
Fact!
The Costa Nova retail unit is based in Madrid’s famed Girasol Building, originally built in the 1960s.
“The space allows the products to be presented in a very authentic way, enhanced by exceptional natural light” for professionals. Inspiration for the interiors came from the Girasol Building where the store is located in Madrid’s upmarket Salamanca district. “The store is integrated into the Girasol Building, an iconic piece of Madrid architecture from the 1960s that remains strikingly contemporary,” explains Miguel. “The project by architect Mariana Torrão draws direct inspiration from this context. The building’s gardened balconies, terracotta tones, natural light and organic lines were reinterpreted and translated into the interior of the store. Our industrial philosophy and ceramic collections fit naturally within this environment. “The space allows the products to be presented in a very authentic way, enhanced by exceptional
outside, reinforcing visibility in a dynamic area surrounded by restaurants, fashion and design brands,” says Miguel. “Inside, collections are presented in a simple and clear way using wooden shelving and a neutral palette of wood, marble, slate, cement, tiles and iron that places the product at the centre of the experience. This balance ensures clarity for both consumers and professionals while expressing the brand’s authenticity, sustainability and contemporary vision.” Addressing the benefits of Costa Nova opening this Spanish retail space, Miguel says it has allowed the brand not just visibility but also flexibility of approach when it comes to their omnichannel strategy. “We could hardly have chosen
a better setting than Calle Lagasca, 90. The location, scale and versatility of the space allows us to develop a multilayered strategy and reinforce the brand in Spain in a consistent and meaningful way, clearly reflecting who we are and what we want to communicate as an international lifestyle brand. Beyond positioning, the store is a key element in an omnichannel strategy, acting as a physical showcase of the brand, a point for order collection and pickup, and a place where we can provide a high level of service to consumers, with the objective of connecting online and offline channels and creating a single, integrated operation that delivers a more complete and convenient
customer experience.” In short, a vital piece of architecture in Costa Nova’s business strategy. In fact, Costa Nova is currently looking at expanding its retail arm into more territories, including the possibility of opening a new store in Lisbon which would complement the existing presence in the city. “We are also considering the development of a concept that could eventually be franchised in more distant markets where we already work with strong local partners, such as Dubai or South Korea,” Miguel adds. For now, however, Costa Nova is embracing the success of its latest retail launch, a contemporary, sophisticated space designed to meet the needs of all its customers.
