The National Diesel, Dirt & Turf Expo Stands at the 2021 Expo The National Diesel & Dirt was established in 2015, managed and operated by representatives of the Australian earthmoving equipment industry, to help construction, contractors and local councils keep up to date with the latest technology in earthmoving, construction and public space maintenance equipment. Due to covid-19 the expo didn’t take place in 2020 which would have been the introduction of the turf component to make it The National Diesel, Dirt & Turf Expo, this is credited to Daryl Davidson Head groundsman at Sydney Uni Sport & Fitness/ Founder of International Greenkeepers For Hire who approached the organisers. His idea of adding the turf element to the well-established Diesel & Dirt Expo as a way
to raise awareness of what the turf industry is about and to try to reinvigorate some youthful interest in the trade. This year the expo run from Thursday the 8th to Sunday the 11th of April 2021 and was attended by over 90,000 plus visitors during this period. It is a great to know that this amount of people got some insight and knowledge on the turf industry as well as its products and services. As part of the expo on Thursday the 8th the Sports Turf Association of NSW held an education seminar for over 80 members that included the following speakers: •

Jenny Zadro (Turf Australia) – NSW floods and turf availability and latest research on ‘heat island effect” and erosion control.
