Even the birds were chirp-  <  warmth in the sun, so the farmers of the Almanac tea leaves seem to really be onto something.

The root of the word ‘equinox’   (  equus, meaning equal, and nox for night, because during an equinox, night and day are approximately the same length.

An equinox happens twice each year when the centre of the visible sun is situated directly above the equator, which generally occurs around March 20 in spring, and then September 22 or so when the autumn equinox signals the big change in nature to har-    /4L 7 -   ;7 ! 7 0

    !      approximately a full day in four years – which is then reset by a leap year, as in 2020.

But let’s not forget that the equator is on our side now, and nothing can stop the inexorable advance of spring.
