HAZLO TÚ MISMO: EL CAMIÓN POR PIEZAS Si Ikea se dedicara a métodos de transporte, sin duda se les hubiera ocurrido algo parecido. De hecho, fue Torquil Norman, el filántropo que dirige la Fundación Global de Vehículos, quien encomendó al diseñador sudafricano de Fórmula 1, Gordon Murray, que diseñara un vehículo todo terreno para solucionar problemas de transporte en países desarrollados. ¿El resultado? El OX, una creación plana que según promete su diseñador, podrá ser desmontado en 6O piezas en menos de 12 horas. Se transporta en cajas, y, exactamente igual que Ikea, viene con todas las herramientas necesarias para su montaje. En cuanto al diseño en sí, funcional es la palabra que mejor lo describe. Dicho eso, es muy cómodo y cuenta con una ingeniería muy inteligente. Otros elementos incluyen faros, intermitentes y un limpiaparabrisas.

If Ikea ventured into modes of transport, they may well have come up with something like this. In fact, it was Torquil Norman, the philanthropist who runs the Global Vehicle Trust, who entrusted the South African Formula One designer, Gordon Murray, to come up with an all-terrain vehicle to help transport problems in the developing world. The result? The OX, a flat-pack creation whose designers promise can be broken into 60 parts in under 12 hours. It’s shipped in boxes and, just like Ikea, comes with all the tools needed for assembly. As for the design itself, functional is the best word. That said, it’s surprisingly comfortable and boasts very clever engineering. Other design features include little more than headlights, indicators and a wiper.
