TAF Holding
Building success One of The Gambia’s most successful indigenous construction companies is TAF Construction Ltd, which was incorporated in January 1990. The company is owned and managed by Mustapha Njie (commonly known as TAF ), who was born in The Gambia. After more than a decade of active and rewarding performance in the construction industry, all of the company’s operations were consolidated by Mr Njie into TAF Holding Company Ltd. Mr Njie has introduced a unified system of management control to TAF Holding Co Ltd, which has a composite staff of 500.
Showpiece A showpiece project for the company is Brufut Gardens, one of the most modern housing estates in The Gambia, which has been developed to international standards.
Brufut Gardens is located on a 36 hectare site opposite the newly built five-star Sheraton Hotel. The new housing estate consists of more than 500 apartments, bungalows, houses and villas overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. It is located only about 10 minutes from the airport and a five-minute drive from Senegambia/ Kairaba, the main tourism cluster of The Gambia. The estate is attractive and modern in character, with bitumen surfaced roads, landscaped terraces and sidewalks, street lighting, 24-hour electricity and water supply with a back-up generator, garbage collection, street cleaning services and 24-hour security. All streets around the estate are lined with over 1,800 tropical fruit trees. This development, which started in 2003, has seen an average
capital appreciation of over 40 per cent per annum.
