Former Mayor of Boston Martin J. Walsh presented the first annual Martin J Walsh Alumni Award at Gosnold’s 50th Anniversary Gala in September Before presenting the award to Trevor McCarthy of Plymouth, MA, the Honorable Marty Walsh delivered a heartfelt speech to the crowd and spoke openly about his personal recovery journey, which began at Gosnold
The Martin J. Walsh Alumni Award recognizes and honors individuals who have overcome significant hurdles due to substance use and/or mental health disorders. By celebrating stories like Trevor's, this annual tradition aims to show people that recovery is possible, and that there is hope.

With the help of Gosnold, the love and strength of my family, and the support of fellow addicts in recovery, I have remained clean. Today, I am the lead clinical case manager at a treatment center, working on a detox unit with addicts just like me. Today, I have purpose. I have passion. Today, I love my life.

Emergency Services
The Gosnold Emergency Services team will be expanding to Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. These services will provide patients with psychiatric and dual diagnosis clinical evaluations, along with recommendations for patient dispositions and after care plans Gosnold clinicians will provide placement recommendations for either on-island services or transfer to an off island facility Gosnold will further provide stabilization support, and grief counseling where appropriate
