Our 20 year Reunion was “Nothin’ but a Good Time” and “No Rain” was going to prevent our “Friends in Low Places” from keeping the “Good Vibration” “Alive”. Yes, it still “Smells Like Teen Spirit” 20 years later for the Class of ’94, and to demonstrate how “2 Legit 2 Quit” we are, not only did our class have more than double the attendance of any other Reunion party that night, but according to the Kinkaid Annual Fund Update, our class has both “set a new participation standard for 20-year Reunion classes” and “has set the mark for the highest participation from a Reunion class ever.” Not bad from the threetime Little Brown Jug losers who brought Kinkaid rhythmic clapping and “Free Trevor.” It’s enough to make T-Mac serenade us with “I Will Always Love You” Class of ’94. It was great catching up with so many of you at the party, and of course everyone looked fantastic. There is an Oscar speech worth of people to thank for making it all possible. We all owe big thank yous to Evy Pappas and Miller Crosswell for opening their homes to us for the main event and late night. Evy was our star pinch hitter, stepping in at the last minute when the threat of rain could have derailed our plans. She even moved forward with Escalante’s catering right out of her dining room. It almost felt sacrilegious. Of course not a drop of rain fell from the sky, which made for a strong showing at Miller’s late night party. Additionally, we should
probably thank the bartender for pouring drinks until after 3:00 a.m. Thank yous are also in order for Trevor Hart who put together the fun slide show for us (see details below on where you can view it) and Don Edwards for producing the entertaining video reel as well as providing all of our A/V needs for the night. The party would not have been the same without their contributions. Thank you as well to Ellie Bullard Essalih and Leslie Ladin Strauss for their hard work in planning the event and ironing out the details. Finally, a big thank you for all of the thoughtful emails we received from you letting us know what a good time you had. Overall the night was a big success, and I wish we could do it all over again. See you in 10 years. In other baby news, Ashley Baxter Zickefoose had a baby girl in March named Sloan and Liana Hawes Young, Elizabeth Sheedy Johnson and Julie Herman Meyer are all expecting later this summer. Thanks again to all of those who made the twenty-year reunion a great time for everyone and to all of our classmates who attended. Who knew ’94 was such a rah rah class? Nevermind those three Little Brown Jug losses – were we really going to win singing “Circle in the Sand”?
