1. Fifth-graders were all smiles during field games held on St. Martin’s Day on November 4. 2. St. Martin’s Class of 2018 graduates (and members of Kellenberg Memorial’s Class of 2022) Sebastian Arreaga-Cacao, Donevan Riley, Daniela Ramirez, and Chrystelle Senatus returned to their SMMS roots to help lead the sixth-grade retreat held at Kellenberg Memorial’s Stella Maris Retreat House in Islip, NY. Pictured with them are fifth-grade teacher Mr. Timothy Morris and middle school literature teacher Mrs. Christina (Bono) Crocitto ’02. 3. St. Martin’s is very proud to announce that we now have a cross country team for middle school boys and girls! Our runners worked hard and crossed the finish line of a great first season. 4. St. Martin’s very own Clipper the Dog helped our students get excited during our Fall Sports Pep Rally. 5. On November 9, we wished our eighth-grade girls soccer players well as they competed in their final home game on St. Martin’s own Stella Maris Field. 6. The eighth-grade students took a trip to Kellenberg Memorial’s brand new Jim & Diane Rowen STEM Center and had a great time conducting their experiments. 7. Chromebooks were recently rolled out to all students to use not only as a class resource but also to participate in the i-Ready assessment program. 8. Pre-K student Kaitlyn Barrera used autumn colors to create her leaf painting. 9. Fifth-graders learned about the lives of the saints and presented their new knowledge to the rest of our school. 10. In September, the fourth-graders traveled to Oyster Bay to sail aboard The Christeen, a New England oyster sloop built in 1883. They enjoyed learning all about the marine life of Oyster Bay Cove. 11. Eighth-grader Anthony Custodio-Pena portrayed St. Martin during the celebration of the school’s patron saint, St. Martin de Porres.
