RIH PROJECT HIGHLIGHT

PSYCHIATRIC SERVICES: NEEDS ASSESSMENT AND PROCESS MAPPING This facility-based engagement initiative was undertaken to identify areas of improvement regarding patient care; physician work environment; overall population health; a reduction in per capita costs; work capacity and flow; program and service delivery; and patient safety. The focus included, but was not limited to, emergency access and referrals from the community, mapping of the process of patient outflows from the hospital into the community, and identification of existing service, program and resource gaps that create unnecessary repeat presentation of the patient to the emergency department at RIH. The project started on February 2022 and was completed in September 2022. The physician lead was Dr. Tochi Anyansi. For a full-detailed executive summary (30 page report and main research findings), please contact RIHPA.
