Nora Scallon
July 26, 1927 - March 4, 2017
March 28, 1938 – February 24, 2017
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Bobbie. She passed away peacefully at Berwick on the Park in Kamloops, BC. Bobbi was predeceased by her husband of 41 years Kenneth Klapstock and her parents. She is survived by her older sister Dawnie, three children Karen (Scott), Jason and Melanie (Dean) and two grandchildren Kennedy and James. Bobbie was born in Kenora, Ontario. After high school, she studied nursing at Salvation Army Grace Hospital in Winnipeg. Upon graduation, she liked to say she pulled out a map of Canada in a quest to find an ideal spot to work and ski. Covering her eyes she left it up to fate and her finger landed on the town of Kamloops. Not long after her arrival in Kamloops, Bobbie was introduced to Ken on a blind date set up by their lifelong friend Jim Hegan. Bobbie was always a whirlwind of activity. In addition to raising a family and working in the public school system as a teacher’s aide, she was also very involved with a number of service organizations including Kinsmen, K-40 and Rotary. Bobbie was also involved with fitness. In her younger years, she taught yoga and jazzercise classes. She loved skiing, hiking, bird watching, shopping, travelling, collecting art and so much more. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to one of her favorite charities (see Karen or Jason for suggestions). A Celebration of Life will be held at Desert Gardens located at 540 Seymour Street, Kamloops, BC on Monday, March 13, 2017 at 1:00 pm. Condolences may be expressed at www.schoeningfuneralservice.com

Does Pre-planning Require Pre-payment?
I found a penny today, Just laying on the ground But it’s not just a penny, This little coin I’ve found. “Found” pennies come from heaven, That’s what my Grandpa told me He said angels toss them down; Oh, how I loved that story. He said when an angel misses you, They toss a penny down Sometimes just to cheer you up, Make a smile out of your frown So don’t pass by that penny, When you’re feeling blue It may be a penny from heaven That an angel tossed to you.
The simple answer is just two letters: No. You can set plan to paper by simply recording your wishes, and leave it for your family to pay for your desired services at the time of your passing. Or, you can protect you and your family, by pre-funding your plan. This ensures your expenses will be covered when you need them to be.

He took his Heavy-Duty Mechanics course at Nanaimo Vocational School and worked over most of the province on highway construction and for Finning Tractor, then for BC Tel as a fleet mechanic for 23 years. Bob had a tremendous work ethic and the highest standards for whatever he was doing and he took the time to teach each of his sons to carry on those standards. Wherever we travelled in BC, he would always say of the best roads, “I helped build this highway”. There will be no service at this time. Please check DrakeCremation.com for updates. This is the note Bob had someone write to go with my Valentine flowers while he was in Hospice: “For it was not into my ear You whispered, But into my heart.

EACH LOSS Each loss is very different, The pain is so severe. Will I ever stop missing This one I loved so dear? Good times we had together, The moments that we shared We didn’t have to tell each other How much we really cared. I never dreamed you’d go away, Never thought of sorrow. So sure you’d always be here Took for granted each tomorrow. Now my life is all confused Since you went away. You took a part of me And for help I daily pray. But when God sent you to me He never said that you were mine, That I could keep you always – Only borrowed for a time. Now, He’s called you home, I’m sad and I shed tears. Yet I’m glad He loaned you to me And we had these many years.
