Drain the oil from the hydraulic system and flush the entire system. Remove reservoir from pump and clean suction line filter. Also, clean out any contaminants from reservoir. Remount reservoir when completed. D. Replace the oil as outlined in Section 8 under Monthly Maintenance and Inspection. INSPECTION AND LOCATION OF DECALS Inspect all of the decals listed below to be certain that they are in the proper location and they are legible. All decals must be in place and legible or all warranties are void! CYLINDER REBUILDING INSTRUCTIONS 1. Remove cylinder from liftgate. 2. Remove clevis from cylinder rod, if applicable. 3. If the cylinder has a screw in gland, simply unscrew gland from cylinder and continue with step 7. If gland is held in place by a lock ring continue with step 4. 4. Rotate the gland assembly until the end of the lock ring can be seen through the slot in the cylinder barrel. 5. Pry the tapered end of the lock ring up with a small screwdriver or pick. 6. With the lock ring sticking through the slot, rotate the gland to remove the ring. 7. Pull the rod, gland, and piston out of the barrel. 8. Remove all seals, back-ups, and wipers and replace with new ones. 9. Wipe out barrel with a clean, dry cloth and check surface for scratches. Hone with a fine stone if needed. 10. Assemble in reverse order.
