COMPACT FRUIT TREES

High yield, low maintenance. Annual pruning will enable you to have a tree at about 1.8m as illustrated smothered in fruit. Plant in a large container to achieve a slightly less vigorous bush. Ideal for the patio. Supplied as 2 year old trees £15.99 each or buy any 2 for £13.99 each.

Apples

Two year old trees grafted on dwarf root stock M26 (the smaller M27 root stock is unreliable in much of the country and only yields a fraction of the fruit M26 yields). We have chosen only group B varieties so each one will cross pollinate with another from our range. We also offer a self fertile variety James Grieves.

A. Cox’s Orange Pippin EL050

A fine dessert apple that stores well. Red tinted fruit with firm juicy flesh. Ripens in October.

B. Bramley Seedling EL051

The best and most popular cooking apple. Extra large fruit are full of flavour.

C. James Grieves EL052

Excellent hardy variety with an early harvest. Regular and heavy crop of juicy and tangy fruit. Self fertile. Included in complete orchard collection offered below.

Plums

Grafted on St. Julien A root stock which is not strictly dwarf, which no Plum is, but is easily manageable. All our varieties are self-fertile.

E. Victoria EL054

The best known and popular variety with gardeners and commercial growers. Heavy and reliable cropping with yellow fruit flushed with red in August. Included in complete orchard collection offered below.

F. Damson Merryweather EL055

The classic Damson, blue skin and excellent all round performance. Fruits September/October.

G. Imperial Gage EL056

Reliable and hardy. Excellent even in the north. High yields. Green fruit with a flush of red in August.

Apricot

J. Large Early Apricot EL059

The hardiest variety available. Large and excellent flavoured fruit is produced from this reliable variety. It is still recommended to grow in a sheltered south facing position. A cold glass house is recommended in the most exposed and northern areas in the UK.

Strawberries

A fruit for both amateurs and experienced gardeners. They can be grown in a vegetable plot and patio pots where space is limited. Beautiful white flowers are followed by attractive scarlet fruit. We have chosen three varieties to cover the whole cropping season. Also available is a sweet everbearer variety (Albion) a giant fruiting variety (Senga Gigana) and a sweet white variety (Pineberry).
