Field Grown Shrubs & Trees

We supply premium sized bare rooted shrubs and trees, we quote the size in our copy. All bare rooted plants are grown in a nursery field through the summer growing season and are then lifted (dug out) from the end of September when the plants naturally enter dormancy in preparation for the winter months. This is the perfect time to transport and transplant bare rooted plants. They are then root wrapped with moist material in preparation for packing and despatch to you along with other hardy plants you may have ordered.

Sizes of our potted plants are either measured by the diameter or volume of the pot. Our pot sizes range from P7 (7cm diameter / approx. 0.25 litre) to P19 (19cm diameter / approx. 3 litres). Deciduous varieties are supplied without foliage in winter and early spring. They’re carefully packed and delivered in a parcel along with other hardy plants you may have ordered.

UK-GROWN 5CM MODULES

Our 5cm diameter perennial plant modules are one year old and over wintered in an outdoor UK nursery, making them extremely hardy. Over 4+ million modules are grown for us every year. They are carefully packed and delivered along with other hardy plants and bulbs you have ordered.

Premium Bulbs, Corms & Tubers

1st Grade Loose Root Plants

We only supply the top graded loose rooted plants in each variety. Top graded plants, although different varieties produce different sized root systems. Grown for at least a year in a nursery field and then lifted in the autumn when dormant. These deciduous plants are mature and cold stored right up until we despatch them. Plant straight into your pots or borders as soon as you receive them. Water them on planting and they will establish over the winter and burst into life in spring. They are carefully packed and delivered to you in a parcel along with other hardy plants and bulbs you may have ordered.

3cm Diameter Plugs (Jumbo Plugs)

We have continued to expand our range of top-quality 7cm pot plants, providing excellent value for money. This range is well rooted and will establish quickly once planted. Delivered fresh from late September onwards, for guaranteed success.

Garden Ready Plants

J. Parkers always state and supply premium flowering sized bulbs to give you the best possible results.

Most bulb sizes are measured by the bulb circumference or the grade quality (Dahlias). Begonias are measured by diameter across the tuber. We always supply premium sized or top graded Bulbs and Tubers. The Duiker-Parker family have been associated with growing or selling bulbs for over 200 years so quality is always guaranteed. Bulbs/ Tubers are counted into breathable bags and carefully packed and delivered to you in a parcel along with other hardy plants and bulbs you may have ordered.

Delivery Information

Between 8 and 12cm from base to tip. Ready for planting straight into baskets, borders and pots. Unlike much smaller postman handy plugs grown in strips and slim enough to fit through a letter box, our UK-grown Jumbo plugs are 3cm in diameter. Fresh from nurseries and bursting with vigour, they are supplied in robust blister packs and delivered individually at the ideal time for planting.

4cm Diameter Plugs (Jumbo+ Plugs)

Similar to the Jumbo plug, however we have chosen to grow these UK-grown plants in 1cm wider plugs, as we know these varieties appreciate that little more room for their roots and foliage. 3 and 4cm plugs measure between 8-12cm in height.

You can use the product code beside all products to find the relevant delivery times. For your convenience, we will always try and send a complete order in one delivery. Sometimes however, one product may be ready to plant before other items ordered and so, in order to make sure they arrive with you at their highest possible quality, we may send items in individual deliveries.

Please note: We guarantee our great value mixture packs contain a comprehensive blend of varieties/colours. By definition the components within mixture are not labelled/named on arrival. While we will always do our best to make sure products are delivered as quickly as possible, our priority is to always send products of the best possible quality. Live plants and bulbs can be delayed by weather and growing conditions locally at our nurseries so delays beyond our control can occur, although these are extremely rare.
