THE FACE OF COMMUNITY REVITALIZATION Founded in 2010 by Mike and Gillian Goodrich, Woodlawn Foundation has focused its efforts on breaking the multigenerational cycle of poverty in the once thriving community of Woodlawn. Led by Executive Director Sally Mackin since its inception, the Foundation acts as the “Community Quarterback to ensure its residents are engaged, included and served. Whether attending neighborhood meetings or holding community workshops, the Foundation listens to collective concerns and identifies solutions and the partners to resolve them. Woodlawn Foundation implements three defined tracks of holistic community revitalization: (1) development of a first-class education system with a clear cradle to college and career pipeline, (2) high quality mixed-income housing to eliminate the concentration of poverty, and (3) community wellness, which includes economic development and a reliable network of family and community support services and facilities to enhance the overall quality of life of the residents.
