Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani has been given the all-clear after concerns over a shoulder injury sustained during Game 2 of the World Series. Ohtani is expected to be available for Game 3 against the New York Yankees, set to take place at Yankee Stadium on October 29th at 9:08 a.m. KST. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, speaking in a press conference at Yankee Stadium on October 28th, confirmed Ohtani’s expected participation. "Ohtani will play tomorrow," said Roberts. "Based on the discussions with our medical staff and the reports I’ve received, we’re confident he’s fit to play. If he’s good to go, there’s no reason to keep him out of the lineup." The concerns arose during Game 2 when Ohtani injured his left shoulder attempting a steal in the seventh inning. As he slid into the base, his left hand hit the ground hard, causing immediate pain in his shoulder. Ohtani exited the game, and there were fears he might miss the rest of the series. However, after the game, Roberts addressed the injury, explaining that Ohtani had suffered a left shoulder subluxation, a minor partial dislocation. "He still has strength in his arm and good range of motion, so we expect him to stay in the lineup for Game 3," Roberts said, expressing optimism about the severity of the injury. The manager’s instincts proved correct. While the Dodgers traveled to New York, Ohtani remained in Los Angeles for further tests. He underwent an MRI, which fortunately revealed no significant structural damage. Roberts provided an update, stating, "If the results had been bad, the doctors would be all over it, but there’s nothing serious. Ohtani is feeling better today than yesterday, and that's a good sign." Roberts added, "Ohtani knows his body very well. He’ll test himself in batting practice and make sure everything feels right. While there may still be some pain, it's fortunate that the injury is to the back of the shoulder, which is less concerning for a left-handed hitter."
