Jim Seebock has served as a Henderson, Nevada, City Councilman for the past three years. He works alongside the mayor and fellow council members to guide decisions on issues affecting Nevada’s second-largest city, including matters related to the historic Water District. Henderson is known as one of the safest and most livable cities in the country. Along with his council responsibilities, he represents the city on the Regional Transportation Commission, the Regional Flood Control board, and the Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority. Before entering elected office, Jim Seebock, Councilman, spent more than 30 years with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Throughout his career, he held positions that included Patrol Officer, Narcotics Detective, K9 Handler, Patrol Sergeant, K9 Sergeant, Patrol Lieutenant, Counterterrorism Lieutenant, Captain, Deputy Chief, and Assistant Sheriff. In 2022, he was promoted to Assistant Sheriff, overseeing all uniformed officers across the department. Seebock's law enforcement experience included leadership in tactical operations, public safety planning, counterterrorism efforts, and officer development programs. He supervised training operations for thousands of department members and coordinated intelligence and security initiatives with local, state, and federal agencies. During critical incidents, including the October 1, 2017, Las Vegas mass shooting, he was selected to lead the Department Operations Center responsible for coordinating emergency response efforts. During Jim's service, he received the Unit Medal of Valor, multiple Meritorious Service Medals, and the Community Service Award. He retired from law enforcement in July 2023. While serving with the department, Councilman Jim Seebock earned degrees in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, and Security Studies. He also completed advanced Nevada POST training, leadership programs, and specialized investigative training.
