t first glance, quitting tobacco seems simple. All you have to do is never smoke or chew again. Right? For most people, it never quite works that way. Tobacco users have been known to take all kinds of measures, everything from drenching their cartons of cigarettes in water to trying acupuncture to quell the desire for nicotine. But the habit is not easy to kick.

“Most people want to quit, but find it difficult,” said Stacey Caesar, Teton County’s prevention specialist. “It really is an effort. It’s not an overnight thing.” Caesar recommends reaching out for help and staying determined to see it through.
