As vice president of his family's manufacturing company, Jason was pivotal in transforming it into a dominant force in producing bullets, ammunition, reloading tools, and security systems. By guiding the company's strategic direction, Hornady has helped it evolve from a respected family enterprise into a global powerhouse. His efforts have ensured continued success without sacrificing the integrity and quality that have defined the company for decades. Hornady's professional journey began with a legacy rooted in bullet manufacturing, as he was born into the third generation of a family deeply involved in the trade. Many expected him to follow the family path, but his father encouraged him to gain outside experience first. After earning a degree in Marketing from the University of Wyoming, he entered the sporting goods world through a role at a marketing firm where he managed more than 200 dealers and distributors. After gaining solid experience, Jason Hornady transitioned to Redfield Riflescopes Inc., a Riflescope manufacturer, where he assumed full responsibility for global sales, product development, and marketing. In this role, he gained firsthand experience managing international teams, public relations efforts, and advertising agencies. Although the company eventually shuttered, the challenges he faced taught him invaluable business lessons that later contributed to his effectiveness as an executive leader.
