An interesting and possibly historically important truncated section of an early American two-blade propeller, constructed from lightweight laminated spruce with long slender hub, this propeller conforms to the designs of early American propellers and the work of the Wright Brothers, 17 in (178 cm) long Purchased in America several years ago by a British collector where it had apparently been used as a ceiling fan in a restaurant near Curtiss Field on Long Island. An important Arctic pine propeller blade, both front and back surfaces labelled with sectional dimensions of chord for manufacturing purposes, with applied canvas leading edge, enclosing heating wires for possible experiments for propeller blade leading edge de-icing, the highly finished blade showing manufacturer’s pencil chord guidelines, Aircraft type and manufacturer unknown, length 81 in (206 cm) (1)
