A
s we enter the festive holiday season with good news regarding therapeutics and vaccines for the virus, we look to this time of year with some cheer, gratefulness for our Club community and new optimism for 2021.
The holidays are very special for our Members' families and I, along with my entire team, will work to make them enjoyable. The Isleworth Team continues to work to create the safest and most satisfying club environment for our Members' families and their guests. Positive Member feedback from the recent events held outside at Shades such as the Sunset Soirée and Pumpkin Palooza highlighted a ‘true club atmosphere,’ even under these extraordinary circumstances. Similarly, the modified indoor events like the Holiday Bazaar, being spread over two days and appointment only, and socially distanced seating for Thanksgiving dinner are being well supported and appreciated by all. I want to thank our entire Membership for their support of our work and respect for our efforts to safely serve you.
WAY N E S H E F F I E L D GENERAL MANAGER

Membership remains by invitation only at Isleworth and as a testament to the strength and vitality of the club in 2020, both Full Golf and Social memberships have achieved “waitlist” capacity. We are only adding new member families now as one family departs the Club in each category. The health and vitality of the Club is captured in an array of metrics, but is probably best measured in the Member use and appreciation of our Club during these last eight months. While our memberships counts are strong by every measure, please do continue to recommend new families to Cindy that you think would enhance our Club community. Referrals have been and will always be our very best way to grow as we address the inevitable transitions and departures of some members in a given year.

Your support of the Club, staff and patronage of Isleworth Eats, the food and pantry box deliveries, wine orders and use of the sporting amenities have all contributed to the vitality of Isleworth during this challenging past year. It has been our desire and pleasure to create your personal oasis from the challenges of the world here at Isleworth.
Healthy Recipe: "Reform" Your Fitness with Pilates
KIDS
Celebrating our 35th year in 2021, Isleworth continues to be recognized as one of the finest communities, and we are reminded of the ingredients that help to make it so – our Lewis family ownership, committed staff, extraordinary setting and amenities, and our passionate membership.
As we continue to enhance the Club experience, you may have noticed that the new all-weather Pro practice tee is now open, and our new red clay tennis court 8 is nearing completion. The Fitness Center has also seen a new Pilates table and new massage bed. The Shades bathrooms have undergone a refurbishment and the golf course overseeding process was a success, giving the tees and fairways an important boost as we enter the winter season.

WINGED WONDER If you look up into the canopy of cypress trees lining Isleworth, you may notice a striking, brown-and-white-striped bird known as the barred owl. Nocturnal in nature, they tend to roost quietly during the day but tend to be more active at night, hunting rodents and reptiles. Even if you cannot spot them, you can certainly hear their distinctive "hoot" in the evening hours. 3 3

Isleworth Community Association
A YEAR IN REVIEW 2020 has been a busy year with many activities and enhancements to improve our community. As a club, we would like to especially thank the ICA Board for spearheading these projects. A few highlights are outlined below: • Security – In its third year, ICA's robust new security system continues to assist our team in creating the most secure community in Windermere. Over the past year, our local area had 47 residential burglaries and 22 stolen vehicles while Isleworth had zero burglaries and only one stolen vehicle. • Speeding – We implemented new procedures to address this issue including the installation of speed limit signs and increased penalties for those in violation of the rules. • Spectrum Contract – Many of you continue to benefit from the cable and internet services through our special resident rates with Spectrum. As a result, residents have enjoyed notable savings. • Guard Houses – Construction of the new 24-hour, manned gate on Chase Road, opposite the existing guard house, has now been completed. The front entrance guard house will begin replacing the roof next month, with a new back gate guard house roof to come in early 2021. • Community Boat Ramp – The dock at the community boat ramp by the Tennis Center is scheduled to be replaced in December. • Street Sign Monuments – All street sign monuments within the community have now been replaced with new monuments featuring natural reef stone and reflective lettering. • Design Review Board Changes – We have welcomed new members to the Design Review Board to ensure the approval process for architectural and landscaping changes to the homes is completed in an efficient and timely manner. Exciting community plans for 2021 include: • I-West Wall Cap Replacement • Playground Remodel (March 2021 Completion) • Conroy-Windermere Irrigation
• Front Entrance Landscape (East & West Side) • Center Median Landscape Remodel • Ornamental Gates (Eight Total)
SPEEDING REMINDER The ICA Board and Security are very keen to see safe streets here at Isleworth. In response to recent concerns, a couple of cameras have been installed as well as implementing a warning, fine and bar code suspension system for those breaching the important 25 MPH speed limit. For children of the community, Residents walking and biking, golfers and staff working on the streets, we can’t emphasize enough how very important this is for both Residents and Members to support this initiative. We all need to closely monitor the speed of vehicles within Isleworth. Thank you in advance for supporting our security team and helping them to keep the community streets safe.

(Yields 15 cookies)
For the cookies: • 1 cup instant oats • 3/4 cup whole wheat flour • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder • 1 tsp ground ginger • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon • 1/8 tsp tsp ground nutmeg • 1/2 tsp ground cloves • 1/4 tsp salt • 2 tbsp coconut oil or unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly • 1 large egg, room temperature • 1 tsp vanilla extract • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup, room temperature • 1/4 cup molasses For the icing: • 3 tbsp confectioners' style stevia • 2 tsp nonfat milk
P R E PA R AT I O N 1. To prepare the cookies, whisk together the oats, flour, baking powder, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt in a medium bowl. In a separate bowl, whisk together the coconut oil, egg, and vanilla. Stir in the maple syrup and molasses. Add in the flour mixture, stirring just until incorporated. Chill the cookie dough for 30 minutes. 2. Preheat the oven to 325°F, and line a baking sheet with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper. 3. Drop the cookie dough into 15 rounded scoops onto the prepared sheet, and flatten to about half of the cookie dough’s original height using a spatula. Bake at 325°F for 10-13 minutes. Cool on the pan for 10 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack. 4. While the cookies bake, prepare the icing by stirring together the stevia and milk in a small bowl. Transfer the mixture to a zip-topped bag. Once the cookies have cooled completely and just before serving, cut off a small piece of one corner of the bag, and drizzle the cookies with the icing. "REFORM" YOUR FITNESS WITH PILATES
O
ne of our many offerings at the Isleworth Fitness Center is personalized Pilates training. In 2017, Isleworth debuted a Pilates room, exclusively designed for state-of-the-art equipment such as the reformer, Cadillac and chair.
Pilates is an exercise program that features low-impact flexibility and movements which focus on muscle strength and endurance. Working on the Reformer, Cadillac and chair equipment, Pilates promotes using your abdominal muscles, lower back, thighs and hips. Most recently, the Fitness Center introduced the Merrithew Professional Reformer to the lineup of Pilates equipment. The Merrithew is crafted with the highest quality materials and spring components. Its versatility and durability make it safe and effective for customizing workouts for all levels of clientele.
Member and Trainer Joy Skorman demonstrating Pilates exercises on the Merrithew Reformer
To schedule a private Pilates session with Joy Skorman or Lara Parr, please call the Fitness Center at 407.909.2055. Please note: Pilates room is by appointment only with an Isleworth Certified Pilates Intructor.
PILATES: A HISTORY LESSON Pilates was developed in the early 20th century by its namesake, Joseph Pilates, in Germany. Pilates, whose father was a gymnast and mother was a naturopath, created a system of exercises that aimed to strengthen the human mind and body. These exercises were accompanied with a variety of equipment known as "apparatuses" to help accelerate the process of stretching, strengthening, body alignment and increased core strength. The most widely known apparatus today is the Reformer, which was designed to "universally reform the body." Other apparatuses include the Cadillac, Wunda Chair, High "Electric" Chair, Spine Corrector, Ladder Barrel and Pedi-Pole. 1199

s we enter the final month of 2020, we are pleased to share that sales have remained strong within Isleworth, signaling the continued value in what is recognized as one of the finest club communities in the world.
Isleworth has seen a record-breaking number of properties sold at 27 – the highest number of property sales within the gates in more than 10 years. September also brought the highest number of properties sold in a single month in more than a decade at 8. Isleworth Realty continues to be the leader in property sales, selling more properties within the gates than any other firm. Highlights have included a lovely golf-front estate that went under contract just 14 days after it became active on the market as well as a lakefront estate listed with four agencies before Isleworth Realty closed on it in November. Our team remains busy with showings and several properties currently under contract and set to close in the next few weeks, bringing a strong close to a great year of sales for the community. If you have any real estate questions or needs within the community, we would be delighted to meet with you. Please contact us at (407) 876-0111 or simply stop by our offices at Tavistock House. We wish you a happy holiday season and look forward to seeing you in the new year.
