Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa make waste more useful

Not all tasks and planning at luxury hotels are committed to guest comfort and enjoyment! While that remains the prime objective, many hotels are recognising the need to be conscious of the environment.

For Hilton Group in Fiji (Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa, Denarau and DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Hotel Fiji – Sonaisali Island) that means partnering with Diversey and Fiji Chemicals to launch waste reduction initiatives. These include:

Soap for Hope - turns soap remnants left behind by guests into new bars of soap.

Linens for Life - reducing wastage of all the linen used for everything from bedding to staff uniforms.

Coffee Briques - compressing used coffee grounds into the 'bricks' that can used as an energy source, instead of firewood or charcoal.

The initiative is a bold start to cutting waste products and we applaud the work being done.
