Kanturk Tidy Towns Bring Home The Gold!
Kanturk Tidy Towns brought home not one, but two accolades from the Anti-Litter Awards! We reached out to ask about the win and of course, future plans!
We are absolutely thrilled with our win! A lot of effort went in to winning our group. We met every Tuesday evening as a group and several individual volunteers did litter picks in their own time and all this together helped us achieve our objective in winning the group, however, we were absolutely over the moon to have also won the most improved town in County Cork. That was very special to us. We are very busy at the moment as we are currently working with our good friends, artists Anton and Kate, who are making a sculpture which will be situated at the junction of the Mallow/Buttevant road. We are also currently repairing the stone wall opposite Kanturk Castle along with further planting on the new link road. Of course there is always the general tidy towns duties of painting, litter picking and weeding. We are a busy bunch!
