Kanturk Men’s Shed Opens Doors to New Home
Kanturk Men’s Shed finally got the keys to their new premises for the forseeable future, Kanturk’s old Fire Station CK23. This building served the town and local community since 1956 until it closed in 2022, due to the opening of the new station on Percival Street. Laying idle, it was put up for tender to local groups in 2023 and thankfully Cork County Council saw Kanturk Men’s Shed as suitable candidates to take it on.
Thank you to Councillor Bernard Moyninan, with a symbolic gesture, handed over the keys to the Men’s Shed members and let them into the clubs new home. Congratulations to the Men’s Shed for the success in their journey so far. Now the Men’s Shed faces the task of restoring the building to its former glory. Best wishes in getting the building up to scratch in the coming weeks and months, and may their new home be a testament to the power of community spirit.
