Patrick Barry has 3 passions; cars, technology and business. His background in software engineering, and his interest in cars led to CustomsDeclaration. ie. With a small and focused team of 5, they are a 100% digital and paperless company who work from home and avail of spaces such as the Banteer Digital Hub.

CustomsDeclaration.ie offers personalised online customs agent service for vehicle import. Such a process can be confusing and overwhelming, but the team is certified in customs compliance and trade facilitation.

Trade facilitation is defined as “how procedures and controls concerning the movement of good cross national borders can be improved to reduce associated cost burdens and maximise efficiency while safe guarding legitimate regulatory objectives”. Definitely something worth leaving to the pros!

Brexit introduced a whole host of challenges; delays , increased cost, and trade barriers. But with their custom built software, they’ve developed a way for first time importers to clear a vehicle in under an hour. This software combined with the customs expertise links in directly with customs systems and the process is streamlined for the first time.

The hope is there to create more local employment and offer more services, all compounded with the belief in bringing money to the local economy while serving international markets. Even small businesses in rural places can operate on a global scale.

They specialise in declarations for everything from motor cycles to HGVs, and even some non vehicle imports. While the majority of vehicles come from the UK or Japan, other countries are not an issue.
