Water-Based Coatings for Finishing Mining and Construction Vehicles: Gervasi’s Green Choice Since 2010 Alessia Venturi, ipcm®

Water-based coatings’ technological performance has been consolidating since the 2000s, undermining the reign of solvent-based products by presenting themselves as a green choice, an option that forward-thinking companies could consider to reduce the environmental impact of their finishing operations. This was also the choice of Gervasi Industrial back in 2010 when it decided to replace its solvent-based coating cycle by relying on the expertise of Sherwin-Williams, the multinational corporation specializing in manufacturing liquid paints and powder coatings for the automotive and general industry, and one of the leading technological players in the development of water-based coatings with the Inver1 brand. Today, this Italian company coats up to 1,000 machines per year, intended for heavy-duty applications in the construction and mining industries, with a water-based acrylic system from the Inverpur series. 1
