uring the latest edition of Fabtech, the leading event in North America dedicated to metal forming,
machining, welding and finishing, which took place from 11 to 14 September 2023 at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois, the ipcm® team had the opportunity to interview Ty T. Crowder, President and Owner of Total Finishing Systems, to delve deeper into the state of the art of powder coating in the US and present the latest innovations developed by the Riverside, CA-based company. Among these, the new PVC Cyclone Powder Booth, presented in collaboration with the Brazilian coating system manufacturer, Erzinger, stands out. Regarding the application of powder coatings, in recent decades PVC has forcefully entered the sector as it is a non-conductive material which prevents the electrostatic attraction of powder towards internal surfaces of the booth. This is crucial to avoid the accumulation of powder on the walls, ensuring a cleaner and more efficient working environment. The new solution proposed by Total Finishing Systems is positioned as an alternative to the booths designed and marketed by the main players on the market, aiming to offer customers a high-quality solution at a competitive price.
