he mission of the PC Summit was to assemble the best minds in the powder coating industry to celebrate innovation as the path to market expansion and better profits. A compendium of nearly 120 industry experts representing OEM’s, raw material suppliers, powder coating formulators, equipment technologists, pretreatment experts and research personnel descended upon Columbus, Ohio for this two-day summit. Based on the feedback received from attendees the event was a resounding success. The first day immersed a capacity crowd into understanding the keys to unlock the intricacies of powder coating formulating, special effects, application and troubleshooting. After soaking in the powder technology tutorial, the group was ushered to The PCR Group laboratory. Here they were provided a hand’s on demonstration of the entire powder coating process – everything from raw material selection, weigh-up, premixing, extrusion and pulverization. Participants then encouraged trying their hand at spraying powder using the latest application technology courtesy of Parker-Ionics. In addition to experiencing the entire powder manufacturing process, experts were on hand to exhibit cutting-edge techniques to measure coating performance. Technologists had the opportunity to evaluate test instrumentation demonstrated by BYK-Gardner, DeFelsko, TQC and Fischer Technologies. The first day culminated in well attended networking reception/ exposition that was sponsored by DuPont Coating Solutions and Chemetall Surface Treatment Group. Industry experts nibbled on hors d’oeuvres and sipped adult beverages as they networked with colleagues and suppliers of emerging technologies. The party didn’t stop as all attendees were presented gifts after visiting the over 20 exhibits scattered in the expansive meeting rooms at the Westin Great Southern Hotel. The PCR Group hosted an after-reception candlelight dinner in the laboratory featuring a BBQ theme, cool music and refreshments. Day two consisted of a high energy symposium that presented the latest innovations in materials and application of powder coating
a missione del Powder Coating Summit (che si è tenuto il 5 e 6 giugno 2012, organizzato da The Powder Coating Research Group) era quella di riunire le menti migliori nell’industria delle vernici in polvere per celebrare l’innovazione come strada per l’espansione sul mercato e per ottenere maggiori profitti. Circa 120 esperti industriali in rappresentanza di OEM, fornitori di materie prime, formulatori di vernici in polvere, tecnici delle apparecchiature, esperti di pretrattamento e personale di ricerca si sono riuniti a Columbus, Ohio per questo summit di due giorni. Secondo il riscontro ricevuto dai partecipanti, l’evento è stato un successo clamoroso. Il primo giorno il gruppo si è immerso nella comprensione dei meandri della formulazione delle vernici in polvere, degli effetti speciali, dell’applicazione e della risoluzione dei problemi. Dopo l’immersione nel tutorial sulla tecnologia delle polveri, il gruppo si è spostato verso il laboratorio del PCR Group. Qui hanno potuto assistere a una dimostrazione pratica dell’intero processo di produzione delle vernici in polvere– tutte le fasi, dalla scelta delle materie prime, alla vagliatura, la pre-miscelazione, l’estrusione e la polverizzazione. I partecipanti sono stati poi incoraggiati a provare a spruzzare la polvere utilizzando le più recenti tecnologie applicative offerte da Parker-Ionics. Oltre a sperimentare l’intero processo di produzione delle polveri, vi erano a disposizione degli esperti per illustrare tecniche all’avanguardia di misurazione delle prestazioni del rivestimento. I tecnici hanno avuto la possibilità di valutare la strumentazione di prova illustrata da BYKGardner, DeFelsko, TQC e Fischer Technologies. Il primo giorno è culminato in un aperitivo di networking sponsorizzato da DuPont Coating Solutions e Chemetall Surface Treatment Group che ha visto una buona partecipazione. Gli esperti industriali si sono intrattenuti con antipasti e cocktail, un ottimo modo per fare networking con colleghi e fornitori e parlare di tecnologie emergenti. La festa si è conclusa con la consegna ai presenti di alcuni regali dopo la visita alle oltre 20 esposizioni disseminate nelle ampie sale convegno del Westin Great Southern Hotel. Il PCR Group ha poi offerto una cena nel laboratorio a base di barbecue e musica. Il secondo giorno è consistito in un simposio che ha presentato le ultime innovazioni nei materiali e nell’applicazione delle vernici in polvere. I
