T
he equestrian hotel in Ocala, Florida is a quiet, luxurious escape featuring 248 rooms created with equestrian pursuits in mind. With two of the most expansive climate-controlled indoor and outdoor equestrian sports facilities in the world, the hotel houses weekly top-level competitions and events in a familyfriendly environment. With a setting that evokes the desired elegant temperament of the most luxurious of hotels, the design of The Equestrian Hotel was led by neoclassical French architecture. Every inch of the property was designed exclusively for the hotel by the in-house design team: from the Hermes/Louis Vuitton inspired carpeting to the custom saddle stools around the horse-shaped bar in the Yellow Pony Pub. The grand lobby has 20-foot ceilings, crystal chandeliers and a f loor-to-ceiling stone fireplace, as well as mahogany and Italian porcelain throughout the entire first f loor. Through the hotel, works by local artists are strategically placed so guests can explore the various art forms on display. These include carefully placed paintings of animals in beautiful frames, and outstanding sculptural art pieces. A favourite haunt of celebrities like John Travolta, as well as Olympians, guests are also able to relax in the spa or by the pool, or explore the variety of shopping and dining options available on-site. The Equestrian hotel is quite literally a ‘paradise found’ sort of spot, the kind worth writing home about… unless you’d rather keep it to yourself, of course.
