IIABA is Currently Working on Projects to Improve Service

I am very excited to become the National Director for the Insurors of Tennessee. It is an honor to serve my association and I look forward to representing the state of Tennessee on the National Board of Directors of the IIABA. I also look forward to serving on the Board of Directors of the Insurors of Tennessee as we celebrate the 130th year of our association. I attended my first official National Board meeting on January 18-21 and will give you insight from that meeting in the next edition of this publication.

IIABA is currently working on several projects to improve the services provided to independent agencies. The group is working to improve the quoting application as well as adding more carriers available to our agents through Big I markets to expand opportunities for member agencies. In addition, the IIABA continues to make efforts to im - prove the volume of leads generated through TrustedChoice.com for Trusted Choice agencies. This will be a continued emphasis throughout 2023.

I am pleased to report that Tennessee had a very successful year in 2022 raising Political Action Committee (PAC) contributions for both the InsurPACTN at the state level and InsurPAC at the national level. Tennessee Agents raised over $90,000 for our InsurPACTN in 2022. I would strongly support a goal of raising over $100,000 in 2023.

At the national level, Tennessee agents raised over $43,000 for the InsurPAC and I would like to see us surpass $50,000 for 2023. Our contributions to the state PAC and the national PAC are essential to the work of our association at both the state and national levels as we support candidates and initiatives who are open to hearing our concerns and issues relative to state and federal legislation, executive actions, and rulemaking. A strong PAC effort is critical in protecting the interests of professional independent insurance agencies in Tennessee and Washington, D.C.

I would like to remind everyone that is important that we use the education opportunities available through the Insurors of Tennessee. Insurors has invested in state-of-the-art equipment to allow virtual participation in both CIC classes and CISR class to make these valuable classes more accessible to everyone. The technology is quite advanced, making the high-quality live distribution of CIC and CISR classes possible.

Please encourage your employees to review the education schedule on the Insurors website and sign up for continuing education. Education drives professionalism and success! u
