Within our ironing system you will find a large variety of different pegboards: square, heart shape, star shape, etc., and we are constantly adding new pegboards with specific themes, such as wild animals, dog, cat, teddybear, etc.

If you follow the illustrations below, you will enjoy the adventurous “world of HAMA Beads,” and we can promise you many hours of fun and educational play. With our variety of pegboards you will be able to find just the design, you would like to use. Otherwise create your own designs by using our regular pegboards, which can also be linked together for making even larger designs!

1. Place beads, one by one, on a pegboard to create a pattern. You may use a pattern from one of our Inspiration booklets, or you may use your own imagination to create your own.

2. Place the ironing paper on top of your design. Use a household iron to fuse/melt the beads together to create a permanent design. Apply the iron to the ironing paper for just a few seconds using smooth, circular movements. Never hold the iron completely still. After having applied the iron for a short period, the colour of the beads will suddenly be more clearly visible through the ironing paper; this means that the ironing is finished. Do not overheat the beads. Make sure that you never touch the pegboard with a hot iron as this will damage the pegs. By avoiding this you can use the pegboards again and again. Once ironed, the beads cannot be used again.

Important: ironing must be done by an adult because of the high temperature.

The function of our special ironing paper is to protect the iron from getting plastic deposits on it. When using the HAMA ironing paper, we can guarantee a perfect result.

3. After a few minutes to cool off, you remove the design from the pegboard.

You will get the best result, if you press it under e.g. a book until it is completely cooled off.

HAMA Beads are available in three sizes and we recommend that they are ironed at the following temperatures:

MINI Beads: Set the iron to the wool setting. MIDI Beads: Set the iron to the cotton setting. MAXI Beads: Set the iron to the linen setting. = = = •• •• ••• The exact temperature may vary from iron to iron. Therefore it is a good idea first to make a test ironing of a small bead design before you iron your larger designs.
