Des pièces d’exception

Chez Parmigiani Fleurier, on aime transcender l’impossible afin de porter à un degré absolu de complication et de finition de véritables chefsd’œuvre horlogers. Des pièces uniques ou produites en séries très limitées, comme autant de témoignages de la passion des artisans de la marque.

Une activité qui confère aux horlogers de Parmigiani une connaissance pointue des chefs-d’œuvre du passé, socle d’un savoir-faire leur permettant de se lancer dans la réalisation de morceaux de bravoure horlogère. «Une douzaine de pièces d’exception sont actuellement en cours de production chez Parmigiani», confie Patrick Wehrli, membre du comité de direction de Parmigiani Fleurier. Mécaniques complexes à l’esthétique singulière, la réalisation de ces objets merveilleux est confiée aux mains expertes des horlogers de la maison, ancrant davantage encore la marque dans la grande tradition horlogère suisse. 

HIPPOLOGIA

Le monde animalier est lié depuis toujours à l’histoire de Parmigiani Fleurier, au travers de la Collection MauriceYves Sandoz, dont de nombreuses pièces sont restaurées dans les ateliers de la marque. En hommage aux valeurs de transmission chères à la manufacture, l’horloger a imaginé la course d’une jument et de son poulain en or massif, évoluant sur un cabinet de cristal ovale représentant le désert et ses dunes, réalisé par la Maison Lalique. Pas moins de 2200 pièces composent l’horloge. Dans sa base sont logés deux mécanismes, l’un lié à l’automate, l’autre à l’affichage de l’heure. Le guichet serti de diamants indique les heures et les minutes, ainsi qu’une graduation qui permet de régler le déclenchement de l’automate. Les corps puissants des équidés arborent un décor gravé à la main, tandis que le mécanisme de la pendule présente des finitions dans la grande tradition classique de la haute horlogerie.

HIPPOLOGIA

The animal kingdom has long been associated with the history of Parmigiani Fleurier through the Maurice-Yves Sandoz Collection, of which many pieces have been restored in the brand’s workshops. In tribute to the transfer of knowledge down the generations, one of the company’s core values, the the watch-maker created a solid gold statue of a mare running with her foal. They move in an oval crystal cabinet depicting the desert and its dunes, created by Maison Lalique. The clock features 2,200 components. Its base houses two mechanisms, one connected to the automaton, the other to the time display. The window set with diamonds shows the hours and minutes, as well as a scale which can be used to adjust the operation of the automaton to the desired time. The horses’ powerful bodies feature a hand-engraved decoration, while the finishes on the table clock mechanism are in the great classic tradition of fine watchmaking.

Exceptional pieces

Parmigiani Fleurier loves to transcend the impossible in order to bring the most sophisticated complications and finishes to its horological masterpieces. These timepieces are either unique or produced in very limited editions, all evidence of the passion that the brand’s artisans have for their craft.

At Fleurier, the creation of exceptional pieces is inextricably linked to restoration. This activity gives the timepiece-makers of Parmigiani an in-depth knowledge of past masterpieces, the foundation of the know-how that enables them to produce pieces of watchmaking bravura. “A dozen exceptional pieces are currently in production at Parmigiani,” says Patrick Wehrli, a member of the management committee at Parmigiani Fleurier. Combining complicated mechanisms with a unique aesthetic, the creation of these wonderful objects is entrusted to the expert hands of the house’s clock and watchmakers, further cementing the brand’s place in Switzerland’s great horological tradition. 

TORIC CAPITOLE

Véritable exploit technique de Perrin Frères au début du XIXe siècle, cette montre de poche accueille deux des rares timbres en forme de serpent répertoriés à ce jour. Restauré il y a quelques années chez Parmigiani Fleurier, il a inspiré le mécanisme de répétition minutes de la Toric Capitole intégrant deux timbres cathédrale de forme serpent en acier bleui. Cette complication particulièrement envoûtante produit un son cristallin et volumineux de grande qualité, amélioré encore par le savoir-faire des artisans de la marque. La taille des deux timbres a été allongée par cette forme particulière. Chaque timbre est courbé à la main, avec un total de 86 virages permettant aussi de stabiliser les timbres et d’éviter qu’ils ne s’entrechoquent. Autour du calibre, ces timbres sont parfaitement visibles à travers le verre de saphir. Réalisé à l’occasion de l’exposition Mechanical Wonders à New York, ce modèle est édité en très petite série.

TORIC CAPITOLE

A true technical feat by Perrin Frères at the turn of the 19th century, this pocket watch contains two of the few snakeshaped gongs known to exist today. Restored a few years ago at Parmigiani Fleurier, it inspired the minute repetition mechanism of the Toric Capitole, which has two snakeshaped cathedral gongs made of blued steel. This particularly enchanting complication produces a voluminous, crystal-clear sound of high quality, further improved by the know-how of the brand’s artisans. The two gongs are longer due to this particular shape. Each gong is hand-bent, with a total of 86 bends helping to stabilise the gongs and prevent them from clashing together. Located around the calibre, these gongs are clearly visible through the sapphire glass. Made for the Mechanical Wonders exhibition in New York, this model is produced in very short runs.
