MUSIC FILM FESTIVAL AT RATHAUSPLATZ VIENNA

FILM FESTIVAL AT VIENNA RATHAUSPLATZ

3 July–5 September 2021 Vienna, Austria

For its round jubilee of 30 years, the Film Festival at Vienna’s Rathausplatz offered once again a perfect interplay of culture, summer and culinary delights. With 250,000 visitors in total, the festival kicked off on 3 July with a live concert by the ORF Radio-SymphonieOrchester Vienna. The programme featured an eclectic selection of music + dance films for a total amount of 64 days, accompanied by a food mile in front of the 300m2 screen, providing delicacies + beverages. The film festival offered a mesmerising cultural experience in front of the unique and incomparable scenery of the Vienna City Hall.

Viennese residents + tourists alike enjoyed the rich variety of the musical programme. The performances shown ranged from concerts by superstars such as Anastacia and Christina Aguilera to Abba and Reinhard Fendrich’s “I am From Austria” Musical. But virtuosos such as Strauss, Verdi and Puccini were not missing on the screen either - and all this with free admission to invite everyone to enjoy music + film!

A special thank you goes to all our partners for this year’s lovely festival. We cannot wait for the Music Film Festival 2022 to enjoy culture again at Vienna’s Rathausplatz!
