1960s
Bob Godfrey ‘66 serves as the state representative of the General Assembly’s 110th District in Danbury. Now in his 12th term in the House of Representatives, he has a leadership role as Deputy Speaker and is a member of the Judiciary, Government, Administration & Elections, and Legislative Management Committees. Bob serves in a national leadership role as chairman of the influential Council of State Governments (CSG). Since his first election in 1988, he has been recognized as a state leader for legislation to protect children and families at home and in school, and to ensure that state government is both transparent and accessible.
1970s
Joe Boland ‘72 published his first book with Ramsfield Press called “You are Here: Romville Stories,” a collection of short stories set in the fictional (but suspiciously Danbury-esque) town of Romville. His book launch was held on August 11 at The Palace Theater in Danbury. John R. Cameron, Jr. ‘78 has been the Director of Golf at the Daytona Beach Golf Club for the past 14 years and has won numerous North Florida PGA Awards for his efforts in Junior Golf and for developing golf participation programs at the Daytona Beach Golf Club. John also serves on the Port Orange City Parks & Recreation Board, The Daytona Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau Athletics Advisory Board, the Mainland High School Athletics Academy Board, and was named Atlantic High School Volunteer of the Year for his work with the golf teams in 2008. He and his wife Suzette have a 16-year old son named Jacob. Jim E. Hyland II ‘76 is currently employed as the Administrator of the Division of Abdominal Transplantation in the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery, Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He married Sharon Turner Harris in October 2012 and they reside in Humble, Texas. Deirdre (Dolan) Nesline ‘79 recently started Smooth Transitions of Connecticut and Florida where she assists people and their families as a Professional Move Manager and Organizer. This year she and her husband, David Nesline celebrate 28 years of marriage.
1980s
Margie Connors ‘80 residing in Pflugerville, Texas is in her 31st year as an RN and is currently Director of Emergency Services at St. Davids Georgetown Hospital. Kids Jimmy Dirienzo and Katy Dirienzo (dad is Jim Dirienzo ‘78 and passed in 2009) are “great!” She recently met up with former classmate Cheryl (Applegate) Buteaux for lunch -neighbors by only 150 miles! Shawn Davis ‘88 and Jami Robbins tied the knot on May 17, 2013.

Chris Dodge ‘87 was recently named Assistant Principal/Athletic Director of Appomatox County Public Schools in Virginia. Elizabeth Durkin ‘89 was recently named Director of Marketing & Public Relations at Urgent Care of Connecticut. The company is growing rapidly, opening new clinics throughout the northeast over the next several years. Marie (Bouton) McGuirk ‘80 won the Charlestown Iron Chef Throwdown - the Battle of Corned Beef on June 1, 2013. Chef Marie has raised money and awareness for the Independent Transportation Network which provides dignified rides for seniors in the greater Charleston, South Carolina area. She is also an attorney. Nelson Mingachos ‘89, P‘17 on being named CHSCA Coach of the Year for Girls Soccer. Nelson has been a coach for the Mustangs for many years, as evidenced by his nine State Championships in ten years. Dave Sullivan ‘89 and his wife Stacey live with daughters (Samantha - 5 years old and Charlotte - 3 years old) in Maplewood, New Jersey. Currently, he works for Turner Broadcasting in New York City. Dave recently volunteered for IHS and edited our “Don’t Give” fundraising video. Christopher Tetro ‘85, was selected the 2013 Faculty Senate Excellence in Teaching Award for Affiliate faculty at Metropolitan State University of Denver. Chris is a professor for the Human Performance and Sport Department at MSU-Denver teaching a series of health related classes. Previously, he was Head Cross-Country Coach, Strength and Conditioning Consultant, and Assistant Director of Sports Information at Fairfield University, where he earned his master’s degree in education. He is the founder and president of Tetro Performance and a fitness industry veteran. Chris, his wife Cathleen, and their children Cal and Claire, reside in Broomfield, Colorado.

Dr. Julie Barrier Ferreira ‘91 was recently named Assistant Principal of Saxe Middle School in New Canaan, Connecticut. Erick Schork ‘91 has been named a Master Strength Coach by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association. Kelly (Fitzgerald) Spielman ‘95 resides in Milford, Connecticut with her husband, David and their three children - son Peter, daughter Parker, and infant Charlotte. While employed as a Project Manager at Merritt Graphics, Kelly is also pursuing her Geographical Information Systems (GIS) Graduate Certificate at the University of New Haven, and plans on completing her courses by December of this year.
