Ciara Lynch COO of The Brilliant Club Ciara, originally from Castleblayney in Co. Monaghan, studied in Dublin and Paris and is now based in London where she has lived for ten years. Founded in 2011, The Brilliant Club is a university access charity. It supports pupils from underrepresented backgrounds to progress to highlyselective universities by mobilising the PhD researcher community to work with state schools via its two programmes. The Scholars Programme offers pupils the opportunity to take part in seven university-style tutorials with a PhD researcher, and visit two universities. Upon completion, pupils are significantly more likely to apply to, receive an offer from and progress to a highly-selective university. Researchers in Schools supports PhD graduates to develop as excellent teachers and research leaders committed to closing the gap in attainment and university access. In 2019, The Brilliant Club was Highly Commended for ‘Charity of the Year’ at the Third Sector Awards. You can help The Brilliant Club to achieve more by introducing Ciara to anyone who may be interested in supporting them to help young people to realise their potential. They welcome working with individuals, trusts, foundations and corporate supporters who are aligned with their mission and committed to creating a fairer society.
