Introduction

Presented here is one of my final projects for the seismic isolation and mitigation class of civil engineering department during my master’s degree at National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan.

The objective of this project is to design seismic-resistant building using an isolation system with Lead Rubber Bearing (LRB) and steel dampers.

The programs used for the design are PISA and ETABS.

The final conclusion can bee seen in the performance comparison and cost estimation at the end of the slides. For this 4-storey office building simulation, the most effective option is to use LRB and steel dampers with the calculated configuration.
