District Council

New District Councillors for Horam & Punnetts Town ward:

Cornelie Usborne has lived in Maynards Green for over 30 years. She read English and German literature and first worked in publishing, co-starting a children’s book company before going back to study at the Open University when her children were small. She retired as a professor of history. Cornelie helped set up Heathfield & Horam Repair Café, the local Speedwatch and 20sPlenty group. She sings with Heathfield Choral Society and loves walking and cycling. Her mission is: protection of our beautiful countryside and wildlife; safer roads, pavements and cycle paths and proper public transport. Cornelie is vice chair of Planning Committee South on WDC and will ensure that local voices are heard loud and clear.

Greg Collins. Sussex born and raised, Greg had a portfolio career, which took him all over the world, and the highlights of which were working as a charity fundraiser and, latterly, as a CIO and Technology Consultant. He has lived in Punnetts Town with his wife, Helen, for the past few years after deciding to retire early. He is active in Speedwatch locally, is the Sustrans Volunteer Ranger for the Cuckoo Trail, he sings with the Heathfield Cake and Wine Club Choir and runs with Heathfield Road Runners. He’s also a charity trustee. He is passionate about protecting our beautiful Sussex countryside which he enjoys exploring on two legs and two wheels. He is the Wealden Cabinet Portfolio Member for Finance and HR.

Both Cornelie and Greg are also members of Horam Parish Council. Please contact them on: cll.cornelie.usborne@wealden.gov.uk and cornelie.usborne@horam.com. cllr.greg.collins@wealden.gov.uk and greg.collins@horam.com.
